Welcome

Our Philosophy

We are passionate about creating modern American cuisine, with an emphasis on seasonally fresh, locally grown n' sustainably raised products.

We farm a 3/4 acre lot n' partner with local farmers n' businesses to provide new, fresh n' innovative food concepts to our guests.  We believe in using local networks n' are confident this results in better quality food while strengthening our community.

Our Story

The Cup served as a local dining mainstay for Sherburn residents for more than 50 years, before closing its doors in 2011.  After closing, a local businessman stepped in and invested money into renovations and quietly reopened the restaurant in the fall of 2012, with the intention of awarding it to a deserving entrepreneur.  With that intention in mind, an essay contest was launched with the help of Bethany Lutheran College's Business Capstone class in March 2013.

Meanwhile, 200 miles north, Seth N' Elizabeth Lintelman, who were residing outside of Minneapolis, had a dream to open their own restaurant.  Having grown up in Fairmont, a neighboring city, Seth had a strong desire to move home with his wife n' family n' start a business.  Seth N' Elizabeth submitted their essay in March 2013, interviewed with the Bethany Lutheran Capstone Class April 2013, found out they won in May 2013 and took over the Cup June 1, 2013.

Currently open select evenings throughout the month, serving exceptionally crafted 6-course tasting menu dinners.

About the Owners               Hours of Operation

Seth Lintelman - Chef/owner

Seth was born and raised on a hog farm in Fairmont, Minnesota, where he quickly developed his understanding and passion for locally grown food.  His passion for food and hard work, lead him to pursue his Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from the Arts Institute International of Minneapolis.  In his final semester of school, he was selected for an internship at one of Minnesota's most well known private country clubs, the Lafayette Club.  Seth spent the following 12 years moving from intern to line cook, to Sous Chef. In 2013, Seth, along with his wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Addison, moved from the Twin Cities back to Fairmont, to re-open the Cup N' Saucer.

Elizabeth Lintelman - General Manager/ Owner

Elizabeth grew up in the Midwest but spent the majority of her childhood in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. She started waiting tables at the Lafayette Club while earning her Bachelor Degrees in Marketing and Spanish at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.

After graduation, Elizabeth held various management positions, both in and outside of the hospitality industry.  Elizabeth earned her Masters of Business Administration through the University of Scranton in March 2012 and one year later, wrote the award winning essay that changed the Lintelman's lives forever.
